Friday morning fatal crash

Friday, August 21, 2015

One person died Friday morning in an accident on I-90 about seven miles west of Mitchell. Davison County Chief Deputy Steve Haar says 24 year old Jonathan Talbott of Plankinton was driving eastbound around six a-m. Harr says the vehicle got partially into the median and it appears Talbott over-corrected, the vehicle rolled and Talbott, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected.

Talbott was taken to Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell and later flown to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls where he died.

Harr says Talbott was the only person in the vehicle and, at this time, does not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor. The crash investigation is ongoing.
